I got this link from a friend. I returned from India just one month ago, and these images bring me right back. It's all so familiar- you did a fantastic job of capturing the everyday in a vibrant, fluid way. Beautiful!

Dandapani,
If your meditation technique is to focus on something... let's say the fingers... focusing on each finger. Is that meditation or is that just focus? Or does that just start your focus for you to be able to go "deeper" and eventually you aren't focusing on fingers anymore...?
Does my question make sense?
Thanks
Kelly from Eagle

I have little experience with walking meditation so can only share with you my insights based on this. In the traditional Hindu eight progressive steps to enlightenment (raja yoga), concentration comes right before meditation. "Walking meditation" would be more a practice in strengthening the powers of concentration. The actual act of meditating is best done seated, the breath controlled and senses quietened as we move awareness into deeper states of consciousness.

What do you think about people who walk as a form of meditation? Could this be a form of meditation, or is this something different?
